Christmas Construction

Christmas was lovely here on the prairie. We didn't go anywhere this year. We stayed at home, partially do to being snowed in and partially because we wanted just a quaint quiet Christmas with just us, savoring every moment of being all together just the five of us and making memories to hold us through next Christmas when that barrel chested cowboy of mine will be deployed to the other side of the world.

With out being planned it seems the theme of this holiday was building toys. We now have a wide array of mega blocks, knex, zoobs and stacking abc blocks. So, what do we do in the evening on family night, we still have been playing board games like Big Trouble and States, but lately it has been clear off the kitchen table and see what fascinating things we can build. Cowboy and Cody (8 yrs old) spent quite a while last night building, giggling and putting together our new entertainment center centerpiece.

The County Fair Farris Wheel.

I do not judge others but as of now, my children don't have any video games. There will be plenty of time for that later, right now it's all about reading... Magic Tree House books to be exact and creativity. I love watching the creative juices flow in my wee ones and imaginations are of the utmost importance around here. So, for now we are being architects and contractors but before too long it will artists...as soon as my son cracks open all the paints and oil pastels he also found wrapped under our 7 foot spruce tree.
Which reminds me if big brother is painting then little brothers will want to also. Anyone have a good finger paints recipe?

Hope all your Christmas's where full of faith, fun, family and friends and many blessings in the coming New Year!!

Happy Holidays from my Family to Ya'lls

Hooah!!!
